You know the new TV show...."Who Do You Think You Are"? Well, today as I read 1 Chronicles in the Bible, I was reminded that this show has nothing on the detailed and intricate pattern of genealogy as it relates to God's plan and the coming of the Messiah, Jesus! It's incredible to read the lineage of the very first man, Adam!How I would love to do deeper research into the lives of all of these men of the Old Testament. The stories of these men and women show us God's power, His sovereignty and Hid purpose! I am reading the Bible through for the 5th time and each time I read it, I am better able to see the connection between people of Biblical history and God's awesome plan for mankind and ME. It is astounding how God so intricately puts every "puzzle piece" into place...all for His Glory. What's really awesome is that God is doing the very same work in my life and your life today! Each meeting, situation, relationship and occurrence in our lives is by His permission and, if we are walking in His way...by His very design!
May we all walk so closely in Christ, that we never veer from the plan that God has for us!Have an exceptional and purposeful day today!

Great topic!! DO that study of the men and women in Jesus' genealogy. It is rewarding and faith building. And, WOW, fifth time through the Bible? Most people never even do it once!! What versions have you read it completely through in?
3 X NIV, 1 X NKJV and NKJV again. I've read parts using the NIV/KJV parallel....I may do that next. (that would actually count for TWICE in one shot, wouldn't it??) hehe
What I meant about researching the men and women of OT was meant toward the people that there is nothing written about. You know....all those people who are referenced ONCE in the geaneology list, but never/seldom mentioned again. I was actually wondering what THOSE guys did and how they lived. The stuff that HASN'T been written....that's what I'd like to know. Guess I should just focus on what IS written! :) Thanks for the comment.
