This is the scripture that jumped out at me today as I finished reading the book of Ezra in the Bible. Seems like a 'no bones about it' approach that Shechaniah, one of the many Israelite men who returned to Jerusalem with Ezra, spoke as Ezra weeped and repented for the sins of the nation of Israel.
Not wanting to draw out this writing, I will just say that I think many Christians often KNOW what God desires of them, but the task, instructions or walk just seems too difficult or challenging and they STOP. Ultimately, we are hindering the work of God's Kingdom! Every Christian, our gifts, personality and strength (ALL parts of us) is needed and is required to accomplish the work that God has lined up for each of us to do. If we don't obey, the Kingdom suffers! Others are dependent on YOUR and MY obedience! Next time you hear and know the action God wants you to take remember this verse from the book of Ezra and DO IT!
