It shouldn't effect my walk with the Lord, but when I'm sick I just want to "crawl in a hole and hibernate". I admit that when I'm feeling "under the weather" I find it difficult to pray, study or read God's Word, or worship. I frankly don't feel like talking to anyone at times!

Both yesterday and today I've had to take control of my flesh and FIGHT! My flesh is the part of me that wants to crawl in the hole and hibernate when I'm sick, yet my spirit is still healthy and wants to soar and "mount up with wings like eagles"! It is unfortunate that, too often, we Christians let our FLESH dominate and rule our choices and actions. That's so wrong and contrary to what Jesus taught and lived! Take a look at the book of Philipians, a favorite of mine, for encouragement and a good "kick in the rear" when you are struggling with the flesh vs. spirit.

I really like the translation of the New Living Bible for the verse of Isaiah 40:31, a portion that I referenced in this writing.

"But those who wait on the LORD will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint."

Today.....I'm waiting on the Lord.
